How Raised UV Patches Are Produced
Production runs on a UV LED cure press. The print head jets UV-curable acrylate ink onto a coated patch substrate in multiple cure passes. Each pass deposits a controlled layer of ink that cures instantly under LED light. By repeating the cycle, the press builds vertical relief layer by layer until the design reaches the target 0.5mm to 0.8mm of tactile height. The patch silhouette is cut to shape on the final pass, and an apparel-grade polyamide adhesive is laminated to the back for heat-press application.

Application Method
Apply raised UV patches with a standard heat press at 280 to 300 F for 15 seconds with firm pressure. Pre-press the garment for 3 to 5 seconds to remove moisture, position the patch on the substrate, press, and lift cleanly. The UV polymer is fully cured before the patch leaves the production line, so the raised dimension survives the press without deformation. For sewn-on applications, request sew-on backing at order time.
File Requirements
Send a print-ready file at 300 DPI in sRGB. PNG with transparent background is preferred because the alpha channel defines the patch silhouette. PDF, AI, EPS, and SVG are also accepted. Minimum stroke weight is 1.5 pt. Minimum text height is 6 pt. For best dimensional effect, design elements should be 1 inch or larger on the smallest dimension.
