DTF Transfers in Manhattan, NY for Sample Runs and Event Merch
Fashion labels, agencies and event producers working out of Manhattan tend to order in two modes: a handful of transfers for a sample or fit session, then a real quantity on a deadline that will not move. Both are priced at $0.06 per square inch with no minimum, and both ship the same business day when the order lands before 3 PM Eastern.
Sample runs start at one piece, priced by the square inch
Standard DTF transfers are $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box, with no minimum order. That is the whole pricing model. A full front at 11 by 14 inches is 154 square inches, so $9.24 per transfer. A 10 by 12 inch front is 120 square inches, or $7.20. A left chest at 3.5 by 3 inches is 10.5 square inches, or $0.63. A 2 by 2 inch nape label is $0.24. Six colorways at two pieces each, with an 11 by 14 front, is twelve transfers at $110.88, which clears the $99 free shipping threshold on its own. None of that arithmetic changes if you order one transfer instead of twelve.
Working backwards from the 3 PM Eastern cutoff
An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. Manhattan is on the same clock, so there is no time zone conversion to get wrong. Orders placed after 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, ship the next business day. Production runs Monday to Friday. Same-day shipping is the standard service on every order, not an upgrade and not a fee. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. For a Saturday activation that needs pressing on Thursday, place the order Monday before 3 PM and take expedited.
Gang sheets for a multi-look drop, and when to skip them
DTF gang sheets are 14 inches wide at fixed lengths, from 14x18 at $15.12 up to 14x72 at $60.48. The rate is the same $0.06 per square inch, applied to sheet area rather than design area, with a minimum 0.25 inch gap between designs. A sheet therefore costs more than the sum of its designs by exactly the amount of empty space on it. Six designs at 6.5 by 7.75 inches fill a 14x24 sheet to roughly 90 percent: $3.36 each against $3.02 ordered individually. Thirty-three left chest logos at 3.5 by 3 inches fill a 14x36 sheet to 69 percent: $0.92 each against $0.63. Run the auto-build packer and check the fill first.
Fauxbroidery, leatherette and raised UV run on a different clock
Standard DTF, UV DTF and gang sheets are the same-day products. Specialty UV work is additive, because the cure and build stages take time. Fauxbroidery, raised UV patches, dimensional UV graphics and luxury branding transfers are 48 hours. Leatherette patches and puff DTF are 72 hours. Those are production times, before transit. Leatherette patches carry a 10 piece minimum per shape and color, and puff DTF a 10 unit minimum. Raised UV patches are $0.65 each, dimensional UV graphics $0.10 per square inch, UV DTF $0.10. If a capsule needs an embroidery look at the chest, build that lead time into the sample calendar.
Getting transfers into Manhattan, or collecting them in Huntington
Shipping is free on orders of $99 and up within the contiguous US. Standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3. We ship to all 50 states and do not ship internationally. Our only facility is 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1, Huntington, NY 11743, and local pickup is available there the same business day after production, by appointment. If someone on the production team is already heading out that way, pickup removes transit from the schedule entirely. Otherwise the plan is simple: order before 3 PM Eastern, choose expedited when the date is tight, and count transit in business days only.
Artwork files and press settings for sample garments
Send 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background, sized at final print dimensions. Agency files usually arrive as layered PSD or vector, so flatten and export at print size before uploading, because the bounding box of what you send is what gets priced. The browser-based knockout tool strips a white background if all you have is a flat comp. Press at 300 to 325 F for cotton, 285 to 300 F for polyester and poly blends, 10 to 15 seconds at medium-firm pressure. Sample garments are often heavier or coated compared with a basic blank, so press one spare first. Applied to spec, transfers hold 50 plus commercial wash cycles at 104F.
Who orders from Manhattan
Fashion labels and independent designers
Fit samples, colorway tests and salesman samples where the run is one or two pieces per look. No minimum means you can print a single 11 by 14 front for $9.24, press it, revise the art and reorder.
Creative and marketing agencies
Client launch merch, crew shirts and press kit pieces on a client-driven date. Order before 3 PM Eastern and it ships that business day, so the only variable left in the schedule is carrier transit.
Pop-up and activation producers
Short windows where merch has to be pressed on site or the day before. Plan against 1 to 3 business days expedited transit, or collect at the Huntington facility the same business day after production.
Studio and wardrobe teams
One-off hero pieces, continuity doubles and quick logo replacements for shoots. Small hits price out low: a 3.5 by 3 inch left chest is $0.63, a 2 by 2 inch nape label is $0.24.
Manhattan questions
- Can I order one DTF transfer for a single fit sample?
- Yes. There is no minimum on standard DTF transfers. One transfer is priced exactly like one hundred: $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box. An 11 by 14 inch front is $9.24, a 3.5 by 3 inch left chest is $0.63. Order one, press it, change the art, order again.
- If I order from Manhattan at 2 PM on a Tuesday, when does it ship?
- That Tuesday. Orders placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day are printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier the same business day, and Manhattan runs on Eastern time so the cutoff is your own clock. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it ships the next business day.
- Do you deliver to Manhattan the same day?
- No. Same-day refers to shipping, not delivery. We hand the order to the carrier the same business day, and transit is 2 to 5 business days standard or 1 to 3 expedited. If the date is tight, pickup at our Huntington, NY facility is available the same business day after production, by appointment.
- Is a gang sheet cheaper than ordering transfers individually?
- Not usually. Standard transfers are $0.06 per square inch of design bounding box, and gang sheets are $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, so you pay for the empty space too. Gang sheets win on handling and on packing many different artworks into one deliverable, not on unit price. Check fill with the auto-build packer.
- How far ahead do I need to order fauxbroidery or leatherette patches?
- Fauxbroidery, raised UV patches, dimensional UV graphics and luxury branding transfers are 48 hours in production. Leatherette patches and puff DTF are 72 hours, and leatherette carries a 10 piece minimum per shape and color. Transit is on top of that. Standard DTF, UV DTF and gang sheets stay same-day.
