What a fundraiser order looks like before the count is final

Nonprofit orders in the Town of Brookhaven tend to come in three waves. Volunteer and committee shirts first, usually 20 to 40 pieces with a left chest mark around 3 to 4 inches. Then walk-day shirts once registration closes, often 100 to 250 with a full back design and a smaller front hit. Then a reorder, because someone signed up late. Price is $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box, so you can cost a shirt before you buy blanks. A 3.5 by 3.5 inch left chest logo is 12.25 square inches, or $0.74 per shirt. An 11 by 11 inch back print is 121 square inches, or $7.26. Run both and your transfer cost is $8.00 a shirt, so 120 shirts is $960 in film. A 10 by 2.5 inch sponsor bar under the back print adds 25 square inches, or $1.50. Bounding box is the rule, so a tall narrow ribbon shape at 2 by 6 inches still prices as 12 square inches, $0.72, even though the ink covers less of it.

Sponsor logos and team names on one gang sheet

DTF gang sheets are 14 inches wide at the same $0.06 per square inch, charged on sheet area: 14x18 is $15.12, 14x36 is $30.24, 14x48 is $40.32, 14x72 is $60.48. Because you pay for the whole sheet, packing matters. Keep 0.25 inch between designs. Three 4.5 inch wide sponsor logos fit the 14 inch width exactly, and a 14x36 sheet holds seven of those rows, so 21 logos for $30.24. Gang sheets earn their keep when every design is different: twelve sponsor marks, eight team names, three year variants. For one logo repeated 200 times, individual transfers priced on the bounding box come out cheaper.

Backing into a Saturday event date

Production runs Monday to Friday. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service, not a rush fee and not an upgrade. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it ships the next business day. Shipping same day is not delivery same day: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited is 1 to 3. For a Saturday walk, approve art and order by 3 PM on the Monday of the prior week and standard transit still leaves days to press. If the board signs off Sunday night, it ships Monday.

Donated blanks, mixed fabrics, one press spec

Fundraiser blanks arrive donated, in mixed brands, cotton and blends in the same box. One transfer handles all of it. Press cotton at 300 to 325 F and polyester at 285 to 300 F, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Test one shirt from each fabric type before you run 200. Applied to spec, the print holds 50+ commercial wash cycles at 104F, which matters when a volunteer tee gets worn monthly for a year.
