Getting a restaurant logo ready to print
What we need is a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background, saved at final print size. Most restaurant logos do not arrive that way. They arrive as a JPG from whoever built the menu or the awning, with a white or colored background baked in. The free background knockout tool on the site runs in your browser and strips that background without a round trip to a designer. Check the result at 100 percent before you upload, because thin script lettering and hairline rules are where knockouts fall apart. If you have the logo as vector art, export it at final size at 300 DPI rather than scaling a small raster up.
Aprons, pockets and the seams that wreck a press
Bib aprons are the hardest item in a front of house order. Cotton canvas takes 300 to 325F. Poly cotton twill takes 285 to 300F, so run the lower range if you are not certain of the blend. Either way it is 10 to 15 seconds at medium firm pressure. The problem is rarely heat, it is contact: pockets, hem seams, rivets and neck straps lift the platen off the panel and leave an edge that never bonded. Slide a press pillow under the print area so the platen only meets flat fabric, and keep strap hardware off the platen entirely. Coated or water repellent aprons will not hold a transfer reliably.
Wash temperature is what kills restaurant prints
Applied to press spec, our transfers are rated at 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104F. That number is the one to hold against your laundry, because staff apparel does not get washed like retail apparel. Shirts the crew takes home and runs warm in a domestic machine sit comfortably inside the rating. Goods sent out to a linen service can be run much hotter, with aggressive chemistry and a hard extraction, and that is outside what the rating covers. Ask the service what temperature they run before you commit to a full uniform program. If they run hot, plan replacement cycles and order chest logos in larger batches so the reorder stays simple.
Gang sheet or individual transfers for a uniform order
DTF gang sheets are 14 inches wide, priced at $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, in fixed lengths: 14x18 $15.12, 14x24 $20.16, 14x36 $30.24, 14x48 $40.32, 14x54 $45.36, 14x72 $60.48. Minimum spacing between designs is 0.25 inch. Run the numbers before assuming a sheet is cheaper. Twenty four 4 by 4 inch logos fit a 14x36, three across and eight down, which works out to $1.26 each. The same logo ordered as individual transfers is $0.96. You pay for the full sheet whether it is full or not, so a sheet earns its place when you mix sizes: chest logos, sleeve strips, apron bibs and hat tags on one piece of film you cut down yourself.

- Orders placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day are printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. A Friday 4 PM order ships Monday, since production runs Monday to Friday only. Same day shipping is not same day delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days.
