DTF Transfers for Youth Sports and Travel Teams in South Valley Stream, NY

Youth sports and travel teams run on short notice and changing rosters. This page is about the actual work of printing DTF transfers for jerseys, practice tees and warmups: bounding box pricing at $0.06 per square inch, no minimum on standard DTF, and a 3 PM Eastern cutoff that ships the same business day.

Roster pricing, worked out on a 12-player travel team

A 12-player roster with a 10 by 10 inch front crest and a 7 by 8 inch back number prices out like this. The front is 100 square inches at $0.06, so $6.00 per shirt and $72.00 for twelve. The back number bounding box is 56 square inches, $3.36 each, $40.32 for twelve. Total $112.32, which clears the $99 free shipping threshold in the contiguous US. Add a 3 by 3 inch sleeve mark and that is 9 square inches, $0.54 per shirt, $6.48 across the roster. Every price is bounding box area times the rate, so you can check the arithmetic before you ever upload a file.

Numbers, names and what the 0.25 inch spacing rule costs you

DTF gang sheets are 14 inches wide and priced at $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, not of your artwork. A 14 by 18 is $15.12, a 14 by 36 is $30.24, a 14 by 72 is $60.48. Minimum spacing between designs is 0.25 inch, and that spacing is where teams lose money. Four by six inch single digits pitch at 4.25 by 6.25, so a 14 by 18 holds three across and two down: six numbers for $15.12, or $2.52 each. Ordered as individual transfers those same numbers are 24 square inches, $1.44 each. A sheet pays when you fill it. Nest hard, or order singles.

Pressing polyester jerseys, and why the setting is different

Most youth and travel jerseys are polyester mesh or tricot, and that changes the press. Run polyester at 285 to 300 F for 10 to 15 seconds with medium-firm pressure. Cotton practice tees and hoodies take 300 to 325 F at the same dwell and pressure. Applied to spec, transfers hold through 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which is the number that matters when a parent washes a jersey after every game of a long season. Press a scrap or a spare from the same lot first. Mesh, sublimated stock and tight knits all behave differently, so prove the setting before you run the whole roster.

The mid-season add: one player, one transfer, no minimum

There is no minimum order on standard DTF transfers. A player joins in week three and you need one 7 by 8 inch number and one name strip. That is a real order, not a favor. Same for a replacement after a jersey tears, a second number set for an alternate color, or a single coach shirt. Artwork should be a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background built at final print size, so a 7 inch tall number is drawn at 7 inches rather than scaled up in a browser. Pre-cut contour cutting is $0.29 per transfer if you want pieces trimmed and ready to hand out at practice.

Counting backwards from a Saturday tournament

An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service, not an upgrade and not a rush fee. Orders after 3 PM Eastern, or on a weekend or federal holiday, ship the next business day. Production runs Monday to Friday. Shipping same day is not delivery same day: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3. Pickup at our Huntington facility is same business day after production, by appointment, and a $19.99 flat-rate local courier option is available at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.

Ordering rhythm across a sports year

Team orders cluster. Fall soccer and football rosters finalize in late summer, winter basketball and wrestling in November and December, spring baseball, softball and lacrosse from February through April, and travel tournaments run straight through summer. Every cycle ends the same way: a roster that changed after the order went in. Build the number set as separate files rather than one locked layout, and keep the name font and the crest at final size in a shared folder. Reordering a single player then takes a minute. The free per square inch calculator, gang sheet builder, auto-packer, background knockout tool and a catalog of 2,434 ready-to-print designs are all on the site.

Who orders from South Valley Stream

Travel team parent coordinators

You are handling a roster of ten to sixteen, plus coaches, plus a spare set. Price the crest and number separately by bounding box, order once, and reorder single players as the roster moves.

Youth league equipment managers

Multiple age groups, one artwork set, different number heights. Gang sheets at 14 inches wide let you run a whole division on a few 14 by 72 sheets and cut as teams check in.

Coaches pressing their own jerseys

You own a press and buy blanks. Transfers ship ready to apply at 285 to 300 F on polyester, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Add contour cutting at $0.29 each to skip trimming.

Shops decorating for area teams

You need same business day shipping on standard DTF to hold a turnaround promise. Order by 3 PM Eastern, no minimum, and pull odd one-off adds without breaking a production run.

South Valley Stream questions

How much do jersey numbers cost for a 12 player team?
Standard DTF is $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box. A 7 by 8 inch back number is 56 square inches, or $3.36 each, so twelve come to $40.32. Add a 10 by 10 inch front crest at $6.00 each and the roster is $112.32, which is past the $99 free shipping threshold.
Can I get transfers in South Valley Stream before a weekend tournament?
Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and your standard DTF ships that same business day. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. For a Saturday game, count backwards. Pickup in Huntington by appointment and a $19.99 flat-rate courier option at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses are faster routes.
What press settings do I use on polyester youth jerseys?
Polyester runs at 285 to 300 F for 10 to 15 seconds with medium-firm pressure. Cotton practice tees run hotter, 300 to 325 F, same dwell and pressure. Test on a spare jersey from the same lot before the full roster. Applied to spec, transfers survive 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F.
Is there a minimum if I only need one player's number?
No. Standard DTF transfers have no minimum order, so a single 7 by 8 inch number for a mid-season add is a normal order. Minimums exist only on a few specialty items: puff DTF at 10 units, custom UV DTF at a $35 order minimum, and leatherette patches at 10 per shape and color.
