Minimum Stroke
The thinnest line or outline that can be cleanly reproduced in a transfer production process.
Definition
Minimum stroke is the thinnest line, outline, or detail width that a transfer production process can reproduce cleanly. The minimum is dictated by the print engine resolution, the adhesive powder grain size, and the cure chemistry. For DTF at Long Island DTF Printing, the practical minimum stroke is 1.5 pt for hairlines and 6 pt minimum text height. For raised UV the minimum is 1.5 pt at the base layer with no upper limit on stack height. Submitting artwork below the minimum produces broken lines, dropouts, or fuzzy edges. The production team flags below-minimum strokes at intake and offers a vector cleanup option.
