DTF Transfers for Garden City Park Dance and Performing Arts Studios
Dance and performing arts studios in Garden City Park order in bursts: registration tees in the fall, a holiday show in December, competition warmups through the winter, then recital apparel in the spring. We print DTF transfers at $0.06 per square inch with no minimum, and anything ordered by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is handed to the carrier that same day.
Recital Math: Adult and Youth Prints Are Not the Same Price
A recital order is usually one design repeated across mixed sizes. Price follows the bounding box, not the shirt. An adult front print at 9 by 7 inches is 63 square inches, so $3.78. The youth version at 7 by 5.4 inches is 37.8 square inches, so $2.27. Scale the art down for youth sizes and 168 shirts split evenly lands near $508 instead of $635 at one size for all. Add a class name under the logo at 6 by 1.5 inches and that is 9 square inches, 54 cents a shirt. There is no minimum on standard DTF, so a class of nine is a real order.
When a Gang Sheet Beats Singles, and When It Does Not
Gang sheets are 14 inches wide and priced at $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, so you pay for the whitespace too. A 14 by 36 is $30.24. Left chest logos at 3.5 by 3.5 inches, with the required 0.25 inch spacing, fit three across and nine down: 27 logos on that sheet, about $1.12 each. Priced as individual transfers the same 27 are $19.85, so for one small repeated design, singles win. Gang sheets pay off on mixed art: two full backs, a row of dancer names, a dozen left chests, one handling. Send 300 DPI PNGs with transparent backgrounds at final print size, and use the free background knockout tool if your logo only exists as a JPG.
Poly Warmups and Cotton Tees Need Different Heat
Dance apparel is rarely all cotton. Performance warmups, brushed poly jackets and poly blend class tees want 285 to 300 F. Cotton recital tees take 300 to 325 F. Both press for 10 to 15 seconds at medium firm pressure. Run a test piece from the actual garment lot before you commit the whole order, because a poly jacket at cotton temperature is how you lose a jacket. Applied to spec, transfers hold 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which matters more for a warmup worn every competition weekend than for a recital tee worn twice.
Working Backwards From a Saturday Competition
Production runs Monday to Friday. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service, not an upgrade and not a fee. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it ships the next business day. Same day shipping is not same day delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited is 1 to 3. If a competition or show is on a Saturday, work backwards from transit, not from the cutoff. A Monday order with expedited transit is safe. A Thursday afternoon order is not.
Getting the Box to a Garden City Park Studio
Three ways to get the box. Shipping is free on orders of $99 and up anywhere in the contiguous US, which most full class orders clear easily. Local pickup is available the same business day after production, by appointment, at our Huntington facility at 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1. A $19.99 flat rate local courier option appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses, so enter the studio address and see whether it offers before you pay for expedited transit. We are a print shop in Huntington, not a storefront in Garden City Park, so there is no counter in town to walk into.
Patches, Puff and Bottle Decals Run on a Different Clock
Flat DTF is not the only option, and some specialty products run on a different clock. Raised UV patches at $0.65 per square inch and fauxbroidery, the embroidery look transfer, are 48 hours. Leatherette patches for dance bags and puff DTF for hoodie chest prints are 72 hours, with a 10 piece minimum on each. UV DTF is not in that group: it ships same day like standard DTF, runs $0.10 per square inch and goes on hard goods, with a $35 order minimum on custom work. A 3 by 3 inch water bottle decal is 90 cents. An 8 by 3 inch tumbler wrap is $2.40. If a show date needs patches and transfers together, order the patches first.
Who orders from Garden City Park
Studio owners and directors
Running registration tees in the fall, holiday show apparel in December and recital shirts in the spring. No minimum means each class can get its own design instead of one compromise logo on 200 shirts.
Competition team parents and booster reps
Warmup jackets with a full back logo and a dancer name strip, ordered in small waves as the roster settles. Full back at 12 by 10 inches is $7.20, a name at 8 by 2 inches is 96 cents.
Community theater and musical theater programs
Cast and crew shirts for a six week run, often with a show specific design that will never be reprinted. Print exactly the count you need at $0.06 per square inch, with no minimum on standard DTF transfers.
Independent teachers and choreographers
One workshop, one intensive, one guest class, and a run of 12 shirts. A 9 by 7 inch front print is $3.78 each, so 12 shirts is $45.36 in transfers, ordered by 3 PM Eastern and handed to the carrier that day.
Garden City Park questions
- How fast can I get recital shirts if the show is three weeks out?
- Comfortably in time. Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it goes to the carrier that same business day. Standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited is 1 to 3. Three weeks leaves room to press a test piece on your actual garment lot and reorder a size if you need to.
- Is there a minimum if I only need shirts for one dance class?
- No minimum on standard DTF transfers. A class of nine is a normal order. Price is $0.06 per square inch of the design bounding box, so a 9 by 7 inch front print is $3.78 whether you order one or two hundred. Minimums apply only to puff DTF and leatherette patches, at 10 pieces each, and to custom UV DTF at a $35 order minimum.
- What press settings do I use on poly warmup jackets versus cotton tees?
- Polyester and poly blends press at 285 to 300 F. Cotton presses at 300 to 325 F. Both run 10 to 15 seconds at medium firm pressure. Press one spare from the same garment lot before the full run. Applied to spec, the transfer holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F.
- Can I put every class design on one gang sheet?
- Yes, and that is where a gang sheet earns its price. Sheets are 14 inches wide at $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, so a 14 by 36 is $30.24 and a 14 by 72 is $60.48. Keep 0.25 inch between designs. Use the drag and drop builder or the auto packer on the site to see how much sheet length you actually need before you buy.
- Do you deliver to Garden City Park, or do I have to ship?
- A $19.99 flat rate local courier option appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses, so enter the studio address and see whether it offers. Otherwise shipping is free on orders of $99 and up in the contiguous US, or you can pick up the same business day after production, by appointment, at our Huntington facility.
