DTF Transfers for Williston Park Embroidery and Screen Print Shops

If you run an embroidery or screen print shop in Williston Park, some jobs simply do not pay. Twelve pieces in six colors, a photographic front, a name drop with quarter inch text. We print those as DTF transfers at $0.06 per square inch with no minimum, and an order placed by 3 PM Eastern ships the same business day.

The jobs that do not pay for screens or a digitizing fee

A twelve piece order in six colors means six screens, six registrations and a reclaim cycle for a run that ends before the press settles. An embroidery job with quarter inch text, a gradient or a photographic element either will not stitch or has to be redrawn, and the digitizing never amortizes over twelve pieces. DTF has no color count, no screen, no stitch count and no setup charge. Price is the bounding box of the design at $0.06 per square inch, and there is no minimum on standard transfers, so a single piece is a legitimate order. You subcontract the print, press it on your own equipment, and keep the account.

Per square inch prices on the placements you already quote

Run the numbers on placements you sell every week. A 3.5 by 3.5 left chest is 12.25 square inches, so $0.74. A 4 by 4 is $0.96. A 2 by 11 sleeve strip is 22 square inches, $1.32. A youth 8 by 8 front is $3.84. An adult 11 by 14 full front is 154 square inches, $9.24, so a 24 piece run of full fronts is $221.76 in transfers with no screen charge and no color limit. Dark garments cost the same as light. The white underbase is part of the print, and price follows area alone, not ink coverage or garment color.

Gang sheets versus cut transfers, and who does the cutting

Gang sheets are 14 inches wide at $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, in fixed lengths: 14x18 $15.12, 14x24 $20.16, 14x36 $30.24, 14x48 $40.32, 14x54 $45.36, 14x72 $60.48. You pay for the sheet whether you fill it or not, so nesting is the whole game. With 0.25 inch minimum spacing, 3.5 inch left chests sit on a 3.75 inch pitch: three across and nine down on a 14x36, so 27 logos for $30.24, about $1.12 each. The same logo as an individual transfer is $0.74, or $1.03 with pre-cut contour cutting at $0.29. Gang sheets win on mixed art you would rather cut in house. Cut transfers win as the art gets large.

File prep for a vector shop, and the rectangle you are paying for

Send a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background at final print size. Vector shops trip here: exporting a Corel or Illustrator file at screen resolution gives a soft edge on a 12 inch front. Export at the size you will press. The bounding box matters because you pay for the rectangle, not the ink. A 10 by 2 wordmark with a 2 by 2 icon floated four inches below it is a 10 by 8 box, 80 square inches, $4.80. Sent as two separate transfers it is $1.20 and $0.24, so $1.44 for the same art. Customer logos pulled off a website usually arrive with a white box behind them, and the free background knockout tool clears that in your browser.

Pressing DTF next to your existing decoration

Press at 300 to 325 F on cotton, 285 to 300 F on polyester, 10 to 15 seconds, medium firm pressure. If your heat press sits beside an auto and gets used mainly for flashing and vinyl, check the platen with a surface thermometer before the first production sheet. A press reading 320 while delivering 290 is the usual cause of a transfer that lifts at a corner after the first wash. Applied to spec, DTF holds 50 plus commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which is the standard your uniform and workwear accounts will test it against. Pull one piece from every job as a press test before you commit the stack.

Cutoff, transit and pickup for a Nassau County shop

Production runs Monday to Friday. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service, not an upgrade and not a rush fee. Orders after 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, ship the next business day. Shipping is not delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3, and shipping is free at $99 and up in the contiguous US. Local pickup is same business day after production, by appointment, at our Huntington NY facility, our only location. A $19.99 flat rate courier option appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.

Who orders from Williston Park

Embroidery shops

Fine text, gradients and photographic detail that will not stitch cleanly, plus one off name drops where digitizing never amortizes over the run. Fauxbroidery DTF gives a stitch look on a 48 hour build, and standard DTF carries no minimum.

Screen print shops

Short runs, high color counts, name and number variants, and late add ons that cannot justify screens, registration and reclaim. Full color at $0.06 per square inch, no setup charge, no color limit, pressed on your own equipment.

Contract decorators and promo distributors

Overflow work when your presses are committed and a customer moves a deadline up. Order by 3 PM Eastern and it leaves the same business day, so you quote around your own capacity instead of turning the job away.

Shops adding a new decoration type

Sample raised UV patches, puff DTF, leatherette patches and dimensional UV before buying equipment. Plan for the longer builds: 48 hours on raised UV and fauxbroidery, 72 hours on leatherette patches and puff DTF.

Williston Park questions

Can a Williston Park embroidery shop subcontract DTF and press it in house?
Yes. We print the transfers and you press them on your own equipment. Standard DTF has no minimum, so a single left chest is a real order, and pricing is $0.06 per square inch of the design bounding box. Press cotton at 300 to 325 F for 10 to 15 seconds at medium firm pressure.
How fast can I get DTF transfers to Williston Park?
An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day ships that same business day, as standard service. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited, free at $99 and up. Pickup is same business day after production by appointment in Huntington, and a $19.99 flat rate courier option appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.
Is a gang sheet cheaper than individual transfers for a contract job?
Not automatically. Gang sheets bill $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, so a 14 by 36 is $30.24 whether it holds 27 left chests or twelve. With 0.25 inch spacing, 3.5 inch logos nest three across and nine down, near $1.12 each, while the same logo as a cut transfer is $0.74. Gang sheets pay off on mixed art you cut yourself.
Can DTF replace embroidery on patches and raised work?
Partly. Fauxbroidery DTF mimics stitch texture and runs 48 hours. Puff DTF has a 10 unit minimum and runs 72 hours. Leatherette patches are 10 per shape and color, also 72 hours. Raised UV patches run 48 hours. Only standard DTF, UV DTF and gang sheets ship the same business day.
What happens if a run of transfers comes in defective?
Production defects are reprinted. Per our terms, report a defective or incorrect order within 7 days of delivery with photos so we can see the failure. Applied per press spec, DTF holds 50 plus commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Press one test piece from each job before you run the stack and keep it for your own wash records.
