DTF Transfers for Jericho, NY Salons, Barbers and Tattoo Studios
Shop merch runs on small counts and fast reorders. A Jericho barbershop needs twelve staff tees, a salon needs aprons for two new stylists, a tattoo studio needs forty hoodies before a flash day. We print DTF transfers at $0.06 per square inch with no minimum, and an order placed by 3 PM Eastern ships the same business day from Huntington.
What a chair-side logo actually costs
Pricing is the bounding box of the art times $0.06. A 3.5 by 3.5 inch chest mark is 12.25 square inches, so 74 cents. Bump it to 4 by 4 and it is 16 square inches, 96 cents. An 11 by 14 back print is 154 square inches, $9.24. Twelve staff tees with a chest mark and a full back come to roughly $119.70 in transfers, which clears the $99 free shipping threshold on its own. There is no minimum on standard DTF, so three is a legitimate order and so is three hundred.
Gang sheet or individual transfers: run it both ways
Gang sheets are 14 inches wide at the same $0.06, but you pay for sheet area, not art area, and spacing is a quarter inch minimum. Eighteen 3.5 inch chest logos fit a 14 by 24 sheet at $20.16, about $1.12 each. The same eighteen ordered as individual transfers is $13.23. One repeated small logo is cheaper cut individually. Gang sheets win when you are filling a sheet with mixed art: a back print, six artist name strips, a few sleeve marks and some small counter graphics, all handled as one piece you trim yourself.
Pressing onto smocks, poly jackets, capes and aprons
Cotton tees press at 300 to 325 F, polyester at 285 to 300 F, both 10 to 15 seconds at medium firm pressure. Shop fabric is where it gets interesting. Poly barber jackets and salon smocks sit at the low end of the range, and dark polyester can ghost dye into a light transfer, so test one before you do twelve. Capes are often nylon or coated poly and not every cape survives 285 F, so sacrifice a spare first. Terry towels are a no: DTF needs a flat, smooth face and the nap will not let the film seat. Applied to spec, transfers hold 50 plus commercial wash cycles at 104 F.
Bottles, clipper cases, machine cases and mirrors: UV DTF
UV DTF is $0.10 per square inch and sticks to hard goods without a press. A 3 by 4 wrap for a spray bottle is $1.20. A 2 by 3 mark on a clipper case is 60 cents. A 5 by 5 corner decal for a station mirror is $2.50. UV DTF sheets are 24 inches wide and ship same day like standard DTF. Die cut vinyl stickers run $0.22 per square inch, so a 3 by 3 sticker for an aftercare bag is $1.98. Raised UV patches at $0.65 per square inch and fauxbroidery are 48 hours. Leatherette patches (10 per shape and color) and puff DTF (10 unit minimum) are 72 hours.
The 3 PM cutoff, and how the box reaches Jericho
Production runs Monday through Friday. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day, at no extra charge and with no rush fee. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it ships the next business day. Same day shipping is not same day delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3. Shipping is free at $99 and up. Nassau County customers can also collect at our Huntington facility by appointment the same business day after production, and a $19.99 flat rate local courier option is available at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses. Turning your sign shop logo into a printable file
Send a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background at final print size. Most shop logos arrive as a JPG from whoever did the window or the business cards, with a white box behind them. The background knockout tool on our site runs in your browser and clears that before you upload. Watch the bounding box: pricing measures the outer rectangle of your file, so a wordmark with two inches of empty canvas around it bills for the empty canvas. Crop tight. The per square inch calculator, the drag and drop gang sheet builder, the auto packer and a catalog of 2,434 ready to print designs are all free to use.
Who orders from Jericho
Barbershops
Staff tees, hoodies and poly barber jackets, usually in counts of six to twenty. No minimum means an apprentice who starts Tuesday gets a jacket mark printed Tuesday, not held until the next bulk run.
Hair and nail salons
Aprons, smocks and retail totes. Fauxbroidery DTF gives an embroidered look with no digitizing fee or thread minimum, which matters when the logo changes or a color line launch needs its own short run.
Tattoo studios
Counter merch and flash day drops: back prints on hoodies and tees, guest artist runs of a dozen, die cut vinyl stickers for aftercare bags, and UV DTF marks on machine cases and jars.
Booth renters and independent stylists
Chair renters building a personal brand. One transfer is a valid order at $0.06 per square inch, so you can test a chest mark on a single smock before committing to a full run.
Jericho questions
- Is there a minimum order for DTF transfers in Jericho?
- No minimum on standard DTF transfers. Pricing is $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box, so a single 3.5 by 3.5 inch chest logo is 74 cents and that is a complete order. Puff DTF has a 10 unit minimum and leatherette patches are 10 per shape and color.
- Will a DTF logo survive a barber smock that gets washed every day?
- Applied to spec, transfers hold 50 plus commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Spec is 300 to 325 F for cotton, 285 to 300 F for polyester, 10 to 15 seconds, medium firm pressure. Under pressed film is the usual cause of early peeling, not the wash cycle.
- Can I press transfers onto barber capes or salon towels?
- Capes are usually nylon or coated polyester and tolerances vary, so press a spare before you commit a stack. Terry towels are not a good substrate: DTF needs a flat, smooth face and the nap prevents the film from seating. Aprons, smocks, tees and poly jackets are all fine.
- I order Monday morning. When does it reach Jericho?
- Placed before 3 PM Eastern on a business day, it is printed and handed to the carrier that same business day. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. Faster options are pickup at our Huntington facility by appointment, or the $19.99 flat rate courier shown at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.
- Are raised patches and puff transfers same day too?
- No. Standard DTF, UV DTF and gang sheets are the same day products. Raised UV patches at $0.65 per square inch, dimensional UV graphics and fauxbroidery are 48 hours. Leatherette patches and puff DTF are 72 hours. Plan a hat or patch order around that, not around the 3 PM cutoff.
