DTF Transfers for Oakdale Embroidery and Screen Print Shops

Long Island DTF Printing runs contract transfers for the decorators who already own the customer. If you stitch or screen in Oakdale and the job in front of you does not pay on a machine, we print the transfer and you press it. $0.06 per square inch, no minimum on standard DTF, out the door the same business day when you order by 3 PM Eastern.

The jobs that do not pay on a machine

Every decorating shop keeps the same drawer of work it would rather not run: the 18-piece order, the four-color gradient a digitizer cannot hold, the 6 point tagline under a logo, the waterproof shell that puckers the second a needle goes through it. None of that pays on an embroidery head or a six-color press. All of it lays down flat in 12 seconds. We print the transfer, you press it and sell it under your own name. Standard DTF is $0.06 per square inch of your design's bounding box with no minimum, so a one-piece sample and a 200-piece contract run price off the same rate.

What the 3 PM cutoff does to your schedule

Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and your transfers are printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service on every account, not a rush tier and not a fee. Anything placed after 3 PM, on a weekend or on a federal holiday goes out the next business day, and production runs Monday through Friday. Be straight with your own customer about the difference between shipping and delivery. Standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited is 1 to 3. We ship same day. The carrier still takes its time after that.

The arithmetic on a left chest run

Run the numbers before you quote. A 3.5 by 3.5 inch left chest is 12.25 square inches, or 73.5 cents. Seventy-two of them is $52.92. A 4 by 4 is 16 square inches at 96 cents. A 10 by 12 full front is 120 square inches at $7.20, so a dozen is $86.40 and two dozen is $172.80. Add pre-cut contour cutting at $0.29 per transfer when you want them trimmed to shape rather than squared. Shipping is free at $99 and up in the contiguous US, which most combined orders clear once a left chest run and a full front run sit on the same invoice.

Gang sheets versus individual transfers

Both are $0.06 per square inch. What changes is what gets measured. An individual transfer measures the bounding box of the art. A gang sheet measures the whole sheet, spacing included, so nesting efficiency decides the number. Sheets are 14 inches wide in fixed lengths: 14x18 at $15.12, 14x24 at $20.16, 14x36 at $30.24, 14x48 at $40.32, 14x54 at $45.36, 14x72 at $60.48. Minimum spacing is 0.25 inch. A 3.25 inch square nests four across and ten down on a 14x36, so 40 pieces off one sheet at about 76 cents each. Small irregular art usually prices better individually. Mixed-size jobs you plan to cut down at the press usually price better ganged.

Fauxbroidery, puff and patches run on a longer clock

Fauxbroidery is the one your embroidery customers will ask for by name: a DTF transfer that reads like stitch with no digitizing, no thread breaks and no stabilizer. It is a 48 hour product, not same day, because the build stage is additive. Same 48 hours for raised UV patches, dimensional UV graphics and luxury branding transfers. Leatherette patches and puff DTF are 72 hours and carry minimums: 10 per shape and color on leatherette, 10 units on puff. Custom UV DTF has a $35 order minimum. Standard DTF, UV DTF and gang sheets are the same-day products. Quote the specialty work with the longer clock already built in.

Artwork, press settings and getting it to Oakdale

Send 300 DPI PNG files with transparent backgrounds at final print size. Vector logos export cleanly. Customer-supplied JPEGs do not, so run those through the free background knockout tool on the site first. At the press: 300 to 325 F on cotton, 285 to 300 F on polyester, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Applied to spec, transfers hold 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Three ways to take delivery: ship free at $99 and up, pick up the same business day after production by appointment at our Huntington shop, or use the $19.99 flat-rate local courier option available at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.

Who orders from Oakdale

Embroidery shops with the machines booked out

Take the 12-piece rush and the fine-detail logo without burning a head or paying to digitize. Left chest transfers run 73.5 cents at 3.5 by 3.5 inches, and fauxbroidery covers the customer who insists on a stitch look.

Screen printers quoting short runs

No screens, no reclaim and no setup on a 24-piece order or a photographic front. Price it at $0.06 per square inch, press it on the manual you already own, and keep the reorder instead of turning it away.

Sign and vinyl shops moving into apparel

You already have a heat press and a customer base. DTF handles full color and fine text that cut vinyl cannot, with no weeding. Die-cut vinyl stickers at $0.22 per square inch round out the same order.

Uniform and workwear decorators

Name and number reorders, department variants and one-off replacements all price off the same per-square-inch rate with no minimum. Order by 3 PM Eastern and the transfers are on the carrier the same business day.

Oakdale questions

Can I white label DTF transfers for my Oakdale embroidery shop?
Yes. We print transfers, you press and sell them under your own name. The transfer carries nothing but your customer's artwork, so what ends up on the garment is their logo and your labor. Standard DTF has no minimum, so you can order a single proof before committing to the full run.
What is the minimum order for contract DTF transfers?
There is no minimum on standard DTF transfers, gang sheets or UV DTF. The exceptions are puff DTF at 10 units, leatherette patches at 10 per shape and color, and custom UV DTF at a $35 order minimum. One left chest logo prices at the same $0.06 per square inch as two hundred.
If I order at 2 PM, when do the transfers reach Oakdale?
An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. Pickup in Huntington by appointment, or the $19.99 courier option when it appears at checkout, are the quicker routes inside Suffolk County.
Does DTF make sense on a 24-piece job compared with screens?
Do the arithmetic against your own setup cost. A 10 by 12 front is 120 square inches, so $7.20 a transfer and $172.80 for 24, with no screens to burn, register or reclaim and no penalty for color count. The break point moves depending on your shop rate and the number of colors in the art.
Will DTF hold up on performance polyester?
Press polyester at 285 to 300 F for 10 to 15 seconds at medium-firm pressure. Cotton runs hotter at 300 to 325 F. Applied to that spec, transfers hold 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Production defects are reprinted; report a defective or incorrect order within 7 days of delivery with photos.
