DTF Transfers for Kings Park, NY Contractors and Trade Crews

Work shirts take a beating, and the crew changes. Long Island DTF Printing prints heat transfers for contractors in Kings Park and across the Town of Smithtown at $0.06 per square inch with no minimum on standard DTF. Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it goes to the carrier that same day.

What a work crew order actually looks like

The typical contractor order is not one design on one shirt. It is a left chest logo on everything, a big back print on the tees and hoodies, sometimes a trade line under the logo (Electrical, HVAC, Framing), and a name strip so the foreman knows who left the shirt in the truck. Sizes settle into a pattern: chest logos around 3.5 by 3 inches, sleeve marks around 3 by 2, back prints 10 to 12 inches wide on a hi-vis tee and 11 by 14 on a hoodie. Those four transfer sizes cover most of what leaves here on a workwear order.

Pricing a twelve-man crew before you send the art

Standard DTF is $0.06 per square inch of the design bounding box, so you can price a job before you send the art. A 3.5 by 3 inch chest logo is 10.5 square inches, $0.63. An 11 by 14 back print is 154 square inches, $9.24. A 3 by 2 sleeve mark is $0.36. A 4 by 1 name strip is $0.24. Twelve shirts with a chest logo and a back print is 12 times $9.87, or $118.44, which clears the $99 free shipping threshold on its own. Add a name strip for each of the twelve and it is $121.32. There is no minimum on standard DTF, so a two-shirt reorder for a new hire prices the same per piece.

When a gang sheet is worth it for workwear, and when it is not

Gang sheets are 14 inches wide, priced at $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, with fixed lengths: 14x18 is $15.12, 14x36 is $30.24, 14x72 is $60.48. Note that both products are $0.06, but the sheet is billed on sheet area including the empty space, so run the numbers. Twelve chest logos and twelve name strips ordered as individual transfers is $10.44. The same art on a 14x36 sheet is $30.24 no matter how little of it you use. The sheet wins on handling, not price: one file, one sheet, keep 0.25 inch between designs and trim in-house as the crew changes. The auto-build packer on the site fills it for you.

Press settings for hi-vis poly, fleece and duck canvas

Hi-vis shirts and vests are polyester, and polyester is where a hot press causes trouble. Run 285 to 300 F on poly, 300 to 325 F on cotton tees and fleece, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Keep the transfer on a flat panel, clear of reflective striping, zippers, seams and pocket flaps, and use a pillow on a duck canvas jacket so the platen is only touching the area you are pressing. Applied to spec, these transfers are rated for 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which is the number that matters when shirts go through a laundry service every week instead of a home machine.

Hard hats, gang boxes and caps

Workwear branding does not stop at fabric. UV DTF is $0.10 per square inch and goes on hard, smooth surfaces: hard hat shells, tumblers, job box lids, clipboards, water bottles. A 3 by 2 inch hard hat decal is 6 square inches, or $0.60 each, and UV DTF gang sheets run 24 inches wide. Standard DTF, UV DTF and gang sheets are all same-day products. The dimensional items are not: raised UV patches at $0.65 each and fauxbroidery run 48 hours, and leatherette patches for caps run 72 hours with a 10 per shape and color minimum. Plan those around a hiring date rather than a Friday scramble.

The 3 PM cutoff and getting transfers to the job

Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and your transfers are printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier the same day. That is the standard service on every order, not an upgrade. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it ships the next business day, and production runs Monday to Friday, so a Monday start means art in by Friday afternoon. Shipping is not delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3, free over $99 in the contiguous US. Kings Park customers can also pick up in Huntington by appointment after production, and a $19.99 flat-rate courier option appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.

Who orders from Kings Park

General contractors onboarding new crew

New hire Monday, shirt needed Monday. No minimum on standard DTF means a two-piece reorder is priced the same per square inch as a run of fifty, so you are not stuck buying twelve to clothe one.

Trade shops pressing in-house

Electrical, HVAC, plumbing and framing outfits that own a heat press and want print-ready transfers. Order chest logos and back prints by size, press at 285 to 300 F on poly, 300 to 325 F on cotton.

Safety and site managers buying hi-vis

Branding on high-visibility poly tees and vests, plus hard hat decals in UV DTF at about $0.60 for a 3 by 2 inch mark. Applied to spec, transfers hold 50 or more commercial wash cycles.

Workwear resellers and uniform shops

Shops in the Town of Smithtown quoting workwear packages can price from the same $0.06 per square inch we do, add contour cutting at $0.29 per transfer, and pick up in Huntington by appointment.

Kings Park questions

Can I order transfers for just one or two new hires in Kings Park?
Yes. There is no minimum on standard DTF transfers. A 3.5 by 3 inch chest logo is 10.5 square inches at $0.06, so $0.63, and an 11 by 14 back print is $9.24. Order two of each or two hundred, the per square inch rate does not change. Orders under $99 pay shipping.
If I order Monday morning, when will my crew actually have the shirts?
Art in and paid before 3 PM Eastern Monday means we print, inspect, pack and hand it to the carrier Monday. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. Same-day shipping is not same-day delivery. For a faster hand-off, pick up in Huntington by appointment after production.
Do you deliver to Kings Park, or do I have to pick up?
Most orders ship, free over $99 in the contiguous US. A $19.99 flat-rate same-day local courier option is available at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses, so check your address at checkout to see if it appears. Local pickup is at our Huntington facility, 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1, same business day after production, by appointment.
My logo came from a sign shop as a JPG. Can you use it?
We need a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background at final print size. A JPG from a truck lettering or sign vendor usually has a white box around it, which prints as white ink. The free browser-based background knockout tool on the site removes it. email our order desk or call 631-458-3842 if the art is awkward.
Will the print survive work laundry and hi-vis polyester?
Applied per spec, transfers are rated for 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. On polyester hi-vis, press 285 to 300 F for 10 to 15 seconds at medium-firm pressure, not the cotton range. Keep the transfer off reflective striping and seams. Production defects are reprinted; report with photos within 7 days of delivery.
