DTF Transfers for Fort Salonga Churches and Community Groups
Fort Salonga sits in the Town of Huntington, and a lot of the volunteer work here runs on shirts: camp weeks, service days, choir, youth group, food drives. We print standard DTF transfers at $0.06 per square inch with no minimum. Anything ordered by 3 PM Eastern on a business day goes to the carrier that same day.
The arithmetic on a typical ministry order
Price is $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box, so you can do the math before you order. A youth group back print at 11 by 14 inches is 154 square inches, $9.24 per transfer, $369.60 for forty shirts. A left chest at 3.5 by 3 inches is 10.5 square inches, $0.63 each, $25.20 for the same forty. Front and back on one shirt is just the two added, $9.87. A camp week front at 8 by 8 inches is 64 square inches, $3.84, so sixty campers is $230.40. Scaling a design down 15 percent cuts the cost about 28 percent, because area falls with the square. The pricing calculator on the site does this for any size.
Pressing onto whatever the congregation brings
Community orders usually arrive as a mixed pile: collected cotton tees, a few 50/50 blends, poly performance shirts for a walk, hoodies in whatever colors people had. DTF prints on all of it, light or dark, because every transfer carries its own white underbase. Sort the pile by fabric before you press, not by size. Cotton runs 300 to 325 F. Polyester runs 285 to 300 F, lower because the fabric scorches and the dye migrates. Both want 10 to 15 seconds at medium firm pressure. Press one test shirt from each fabric group and wash it. Applied to spec, transfers survive 50 plus commercial wash cycles at 104 F.
Getting a church logo into a printable file
The file is where most volunteer-run orders stall. The logo that exists is often a small JPG lifted from a bulletin PDF or a website header, sitting on a white box at 72 DPI. That prints soft, and it prints with the box. What we need is a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background, sized at final print dimensions: 3300 pixels wide for an 11 inch back print, 1050 pixels for a 3.5 inch chest. The background knockout tool on the site runs in your browser and clears a flat white background. Watch thin strokes in script lettering and hairline rules, and thicken anything under about a sixteenth of an inch at final size.
Gang sheets for name strips and small repeats
Gang sheets are 14 inches wide at $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, in fixed lengths: 14 by 18 at $15.12, 14 by 24 at $20.16, 14 by 36 at $30.24, 14 by 48 at $40.32, 14 by 54 at $45.36, 14 by 72 at $60.48. Minimum spacing between designs is 0.25 inch. Name strips at 2 by 1 inch nest six across and fourteen down on a 14 by 18 sheet, 84 strips for $15.12, about $0.18 each. The rate matches individual transfers, so the only real difference is that you pay for the whitespace. Pack tight. Use the drag-and-drop builder, or let the auto-build packer nest the file for you.
Back-counting from the event date
Production runs Monday through Friday. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is standard service for everyone, not an upgrade. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it ships the next business day. Shipping same day is not delivery same day: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3, free over $99 in the contiguous US. For a Sunday event, count backward a full week. If that is tight, local pickup in Huntington is available the same business day after production by appointment, and a $19.99 flat rate local courier option appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.
Patches, foil and UV for anniversaries and fundraisers
Not everything is a shirt, and the specialty items are not same day. Raised UV patches are $0.65 per square inch and dimensional UV graphics $0.10, both 48 hours, as is fauxbroidery if you want an embroidered look on a ministry jacket without digitizing. Leatherette patches run 72 hours with a minimum of 10 per shape and color, and puff DTF is 72 hours with a 10 unit minimum. Die-cut vinyl stickers are $0.22 per square inch for a giveaway table, glow in the dark DTF is $0.18, and UV DTF at $0.10 puts a logo on tumblers and hard goods, with a $35 order minimum on custom UV DTF. Order these ahead of the shirts.
Who orders from Fort Salonga
Youth ministry and camp leaders
Camp weeks and retreats mean one design, sixty small bodies and a hard date. An 8 by 8 inch front is $3.84 per transfer. Order by 3 PM Eastern and it ships the same business day.
Volunteer and service day coordinators
Service days and food drives need identifiable volunteers, fast, often with a roster that changes the night before. No minimum on standard DTF means a six-shirt top-up costs $3.78 at left chest size.
Fundraising and outreach committees
Walks, sales and benefit events where every dollar printed is a dollar not donated. Bounding box pricing lets you size the art to the budget, and gang sheets nest small repeats like name strips and sponsor marks.
Choir, ushers and small ministry teams
Small standing groups that reorder in ones and twos as people join. A 3.5 by 3 inch chest mark is $0.63 per transfer, no minimum, so replacing two shirts costs $1.26 in transfers.
Fort Salonga questions
- We need shirts for a church event this Sunday. Can you get them to Fort Salonga in time?
- Same-day shipping is standard, not an upgrade: order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it goes to the carrier that day. Transit is separate, 2 to 5 business days standard and 1 to 3 expedited. For a Sunday event, order a full week ahead, choose expedited, or pick up in Huntington by appointment.
- Is there a minimum? We only need six usher shirts.
- No minimum on standard DTF transfers. Six left chest prints at 3.5 by 3 inches is 10.5 square inches each, $0.63 apiece, $3.78 total. That also means late signups are easy: order three more next week at the same $0.06 per square inch, and the transfers arrive separated and ready to press.
- Our church logo is only a small JPG from our website. Can you print it?
- Probably not as is. A logo pulled off a website header is usually 72 DPI and a few hundred pixels wide. We need a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background at final print size, so an 11 inch back print is 3300 pixels wide. The browser-based knockout tool removes a white background. email our order desk if you are unsure.
- Can volunteers press these onto donated shirts in different colors and fabrics?
- Yes, that is the normal case. Cotton presses at 300 to 325 F, polyester at 285 to 300 F, both for 10 to 15 seconds at medium firm pressure. Sort the pile by fabric before you start and press one test shirt from each group. Applied to spec, transfers hold 50 plus commercial wash cycles at 104 F.
- Is it cheaper to gang all our designs onto one sheet?
- Not cheaper per square inch. Gang sheets are $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, the same rate as individual transfers, so you also pay for the gaps. They win when you have many small repeats you want nested on one 14 inch wide sheet. Eighty-four 2 by 1 inch name strips fit a 14 by 18 sheet at $15.12, about $0.18 each.
