DTF Transfers for Lake Ronkonkoma Salons, Barbers and Tattoo Studios

Salons, barbershops and tattoo studios in Lake Ronkonkoma do not order 300 shirts at a time. They order six, then four more when someone new takes a chair. Standard DTF transfers are $0.06 per square inch with no minimum, and an order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is handed to the carrier that same business day.

What a chair-side business actually orders

Chair-side businesses order in small, repeating batches. A salon replaces three to twelve staff shirts when someone new starts, not 200 at once. A barbershop wants the shop mark on a left chest and a bigger version across the back of a hoodie. A tattoo studio runs flash-day tees, guest-artist shirts and sticker sheets in runs of 24 to 60, then never reorders that design again. Standard DTF transfers have no minimum, so a three-piece reorder is a normal order here, priced at the same rate per square inch as a hundred-piece run.

The arithmetic on a chest mark, a back print and a sleeve strip

A left chest mark at 3.5 by 3 inches is 10.5 square inches, so $0.63 per transfer. Twelve of them is $7.56. A 4 by 4 chest logo is 16 square inches, $0.96. A back print at 11 by 14 is 154 square inches, $9.24, and at 12 by 16 it is 192 square inches, $11.52. A sleeve strip at 2 by 11 inches is 22 square inches, $1.32. Price is bounding box, not ink coverage, so a thin outlined script costs the same as a solid block with the same footprint. Trim the transparent margin in your PNG before you export.

Gang sheet or a la carte for a small logo run

Both are $0.06 per square inch. The difference is what gets measured. A la carte charges the bounding box of each design. A gang sheet charges the whole sheet, gaps included, so a 14 by 36 sheet is 504 square inches at $30.24 no matter what you put on it. Pack that sheet with 33 left chest marks at 3.5 by 3 and you have used 346.5 square inches, while those same 33 ordered individually come to $20.79. Order a la carte when every piece is the same small logo. Take the gang sheet when you are mixing sizes or want one sheet to cut and file. Minimum spacing between designs is 0.25 inch.

Pressing capes, smocks, aprons and heavy black tees

Salon capes and stylist smocks are usually 100 percent polyester. Press those at 285 to 300 F, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Cotton and cotton-heavy aprons, tees and hoodies take 300 to 325 F at the same dwell and pressure. Applied to spec, transfers hold through 50 plus commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which matters when smocks go through a shop wash every week. Pick smooth-faced garments. A textured terry towel or a waffle-weave cape gives the transfer no flat surface to bond to, and no press setting fixes that.

The 3 PM cutoff and how the box reaches Lake Ronkonkoma

Production runs Monday to Friday. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service, not a rush fee or an upgrade. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it goes out the next business day. Same-day shipping is not same-day delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3. Orders of $99 and up ship free within the contiguous US. Lake Ronkonkoma sits in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, so the $19.99 flat-rate local courier option is available at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses. Pickup at the Huntington shop is by appointment, same business day after production.

Patches, stickers and fauxbroidery, and what they cost you in time

Not everything is same day. Raised UV patches at $0.65 per square inch and fauxbroidery, the embroidery-look DTF that gets a stitched texture without embroidery setup, are 48 hours. Leatherette patches and puff DTF are 72 hours, and leatherette runs 10 per shape and color. Die-cut vinyl stickers are $0.22 per square inch, the cheapest way to put a studio mark in every client's hand: a 3 by 3 sticker is $1.98. Glow in the dark DTF is $0.18 per square inch. UV DTF at $0.10 per square inch goes on mirrors, tool cases and retail jars rather than fabric. Call 631-458-3842 or email our order desk if you are unsure which line fits the item.

Lake Ronkonkoma questions

Is there a minimum order for salon staff shirts?
No. Standard DTF transfers have no minimum order. Three left chest marks at 3.5 by 3 inches is $1.89, and they print on the same run as a 500 piece job. Minimums exist only on a few specialty lines: puff DTF at 10 units, custom UV DTF at a $35 order minimum, and leatherette patches at 10 per shape and color.
Do you deliver to Lake Ronkonkoma or do I have to ship?
Both are options. Delivery is a $19.99 flat-rate local courier that appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses, so check your address at checkout rather than assuming. Shipping is free on orders of $99 and up, 2 to 5 business days standard. Pickup is at the Huntington shop, 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1, by appointment on the same business day after production.
What temperature do I press a polyester salon cape at?
Most capes and stylist smocks are 100 percent polyester, so press at 285 to 300 F for 10 to 15 seconds with medium-firm pressure. Cotton aprons and tees go at 300 to 325 F for the same dwell. If a garment is a poly cotton blend, run the polyester range and add time before you add heat.
How far ahead should a tattoo studio order flash day tees?
Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it ships that day, but transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard and 1 to 3 expedited. For a Saturday flash day, order Monday or Tuesday with standard shipping, or Wednesday with expedited. Weekend and federal holiday orders ship the next business day.
What file do you need for a shop logo?
A 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background, sized at final print size. If your logo came back from a designer sitting on a white square, run it through the free browser-based background knockout tool on the site before you upload. The per square inch calculator, the drag and drop gang sheet builder and the auto-build packer are also free.
