DTF Transfers for Gyms and Fitness Studios in Medford, NY
Gyms and fitness studios in Medford order on a cycle: staff and trainer shirts, challenge tees, tanks for summer, hoodies for winter, and branded bottles for the front desk. Standard DTF transfers are $0.06 per square inch with no minimum, and an order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day ships that same business day.
What a gym order actually costs, size by size
Gym work is mostly two sizes. A left chest mark at 3.5 by 3.5 inches is 12.25 square inches, which is 74 cents at $0.06 per square inch. A full back at 11 by 14 is 154 square inches, or $9.24. Run both on twelve trainer shirts and you are at $119.70, past the $99 free shipping threshold. Tank fronts at 8 by 10 run $4.80. A sleeve hit at 1.5 by 11 is 99 cents. There is no minimum on standard DTF, so a studio can order six challenge shirts or six hundred at the same per inch rate.
Pressing polyester tanks and poly-spandex blends
Fitness apparel skews polyester and poly-spandex, not cotton, and the press spec is different. Cotton runs 300 to 325 F. Polyester runs 285 to 300 F, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Stay at the low end on thin performance tanks and on anything with spandex in it. Test one shirt from each dye lot before you run the batch, because colored polyester can migrate dye up into a white print under heat. Applied to spec, the transfer holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which matters when a member wears the same challenge tee three times a week.
Gang sheet or loose transfers for a challenge run
Our gang sheets are $0.06 per square inch of sheet area, the same rate as an individual transfer. Individual transfers are measured on the design's own bounding box, so you never pay for the gaps. On a sheet you do. A 14 by 24 sheet is $20.16, and with the 0.25 inch minimum spacing it holds about 18 left chest marks, so roughly $1.12 each against 74 cents ordered loose. Gang sheets earn their place when you are running many different marks at once, or want one sheet to cut down at the press. Fixed lengths run 14x18 at $15.12 through 14x72 at $60.48.
Bottles, lockers and the front desk: UV DTF
The gym floor is full of hard goods. UV DTF transfers are $0.10 per square inch and go onto shaker bottles, stainless tumblers, locker doors, mirrors, kettlebell handles, foam roller ends and front desk signage. No heat press needed: peel, apply, burnish. A 2 by 3 inch bottle mark is 6 square inches, 60 cents each, so branding a hundred member bottles is $60 in transfers. UV DTF gang sheets are 24 inches wide. Custom UV DTF carries a $35 order minimum. UV DTF ships same business day on the 3 PM cutoff, but raised UV patches and dimensional UV graphics are 48 hours.
The 3 PM cutoff and three ways to get it into Brookhaven
Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service, not an upgrade and not a fee. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it moves the next business day. Production runs Monday to Friday. Medford sits in the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, and there are three ways to receive an order: free shipping over $99 with 2 to 5 business day transit (1 to 3 expedited), pickup the same business day by appointment at our Huntington shop, or a $19.99 flat rate local courier option available at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.
When your studio logo is still a JPG
Most studios have a logo as a JPG with a white box behind it, usually pulled off their own website. That will print as a white box. Send a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background, sized at final print size, so a left chest file should be 3.5 by 3.5 inches at 300 DPI. If all you have is the JPG, the background knockout tool on our site runs in the browser and strips the white for you. The pricing calculator gives you the exact number before you order. Contour cutting, if you want each transfer pre-cut to shape, is $0.29 per transfer.
Who orders from Medford
Strength gyms running a six week challenge
A challenge run is usually one front print in three or four shirt sizes. At 10 by 12 inches that is $7.20 per transfer with no minimum, so you can print to actual signups instead of guessing and reordering mid-challenge.
Martial arts and jiu jitsu academies
Belt promotions and in-house tournaments mean short, dated runs. Rash guard sleeve hits at 1.5 by 11 inches are 99 cents each, and a back panel at 11 by 14 is $9.24. Order by 3 PM Eastern and it ships that business day.
Boutique spin, yoga and pilates studios
Small runs on thin poly blends and cropped cuts. A 7 by 7 inch front is 49 square inches, $2.94 per transfer. Press at 285 to 300 F for 10 to 15 seconds so the fabric does not scorch or gloss.
Personal trainers starting a first apparel line
No minimum means you can test three designs on a dozen shirts each before committing to inventory. Use the pricing calculator to size artwork to a budget, and the background knockout tool if your logo is still a JPG.
Medford questions
- Can I get DTF transfers delivered to Medford the same day I order?
- We ship same day, not deliver same day. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is handed to the carrier that same business day. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. If you need it faster, pick up at our Huntington shop by appointment, or check whether the $19.99 flat rate local courier option shows at checkout for your address.
- What is the cheapest way to print 40 challenge shirts for my gym?
- Price it by the bounding box. A 10 by 12 inch front is 120 square inches, $7.20 per transfer, so 40 shirts is $288 in transfers and ships free. Shrink the artwork to 9 by 11 and it is 99 square inches, $5.94 each, or $237.60 for the same 40. An inch off each side is real money on a run.
- Will DTF hold up on sweaty polyester tanks and rash guards?
- Yes, when it is pressed to spec. Polyester and performance blends want 285 to 300 F, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure, and the low end of that range on thin tanks. Applied that way the print holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Cotton runs hotter, at 300 to 325 F.
- Is there a minimum order for a small studio?
- No minimum on standard DTF transfers, so a single trainer shirt is fine. A few products do carry minimums: puff DTF is 10 units, custom UV DTF has a $35 order minimum, and leatherette patches are 10 per shape and color. Those also run longer than same day, at 72 hours for puff and leatherette.
- Can I pick my order up instead of having it shipped?
- Yes. Local pickup is same business day after production, by appointment, at 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1, Huntington, NY 11743. That is our only location, so there is no drop-off point in Medford or elsewhere in Brookhaven. Call 631-458-3842 or email our order desk to set a time.
