DTF Transfers in Melville, NY for Company Apparel and Event Giveaways
If you buy branded apparel for a Melville company, the job is usually a logo, a headcount and a date. We print standard DTF transfers at $0.06 per square inch with no minimum order. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day from our Huntington, NY shop.
What a corporate apparel calendar actually looks like
Corporate apparel buying is lumpy, not steady. A typical cycle: 120 polos for a client event, then nothing for six weeks, then 40 quarter-zips for new hires, then 300 tote bags for a conference. Standard DTF transfers have no minimum, so the 40-piece reorder costs the same per unit as the 300-piece run. That matters more than it sounds. You are not forced to overbuy against a screen minimum on a mark that may change the next time marketing refreshes the brand. Order what you need this month, keep the file, and reorder it later at the same $0.06 per square inch.
Bounding box math on a 120-polo logo run
Price is the bounding box of the design times $0.06. A 3 by 2.5 inch left chest logo is 7.5 square inches, so $0.45 per transfer. One hundred twenty polos is $54.00 in transfers. Add a 3 by 1.5 inch sleeve hit at 4.5 square inches and that is another $0.27 each, $32.40 across the run. An 11 by 14 inch full back for a field or warehouse crew shirt is 154 square inches, $9.24 each. Bounding box means the rectangle around the artwork, not the ink coverage, so tightening whitespace in the file lowers the price. A logo exported with a wide empty margin is margin you are paying to print.
Gang sheet or individual transfers: run the numbers
DTF gang sheets are 14 inches wide and priced on sheet area, not on what you fit inside. A 14 by 24 sheet is $20.16, a 14 by 72 is $60.48, and minimum spacing between designs is 0.25 inch. Check the math before assuming a sheet is cheaper. Three 3.5 inch logos across 14 inches consume 11 inches and strand the rest, so one repeated left chest logo usually costs less ordered as individual transfers priced on its own bounding box. The sheet wins on mixed orders: department variations, event names, three sizes of the same mark, a QR panel. The auto-build packer fills a sheet from your uploads and shows the waste first.
Poly polos press cooler than cotton tees
Corporate apparel skews polyester. Performance polos, quarter-zips, moisture-wicking event tees. Press those at 285 to 300 F, not the 300 to 325 F you would use on a cotton tee. Ten to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Running a poly polo at cotton temperature is how you get a scorch box or dye migration on a light garment. Applied to spec, the transfer holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which is the standard a uniform program needs. If an outside decorator presses for you, send the spec with the box. If the office presses its own onboarding kits, add pre-cut contour cutting at $0.29 per transfer so nobody trims film by hand.
UV DTF for the giveaway table and the hard goods
Event giveaways are rarely all apparel. UV DTF transfers are $0.10 per square inch and go on hard goods: tumblers, bottles, notebooks, laptop lids, clipboards, acrylic. A 9 by 4 inch tumbler wrap is 36 square inches, $3.60 per unit, so 100 tumblers is $360 in transfers. A 3 by 3 inch bottle or laptop decal is $0.90. UV DTF gang sheets are 24 inches wide. UV DTF ships same day like standard DTF. The specialty UV lines are slower because the cure and build stages are additive: raised UV patches at $0.65 each, dimensional UV graphics and fauxbroidery run 48 hours, leatherette patches and puff DTF run 72 hours.
Three ways an order reaches Melville
Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it goes to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service, not an upgrade and not a fee. After 3 PM, on a weekend, or on a federal holiday it ships the next business day. Production runs Monday to Friday. Same-day shipping is not same-day delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3, and shipping is free at $99 and up in the contiguous US. There are two alternatives. Local pickup is the same business day after production, by appointment, at our Huntington facility. A $19.99 flat-rate local courier is available at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.
Who orders from Melville
Marketing and brand managers
You own the logo files and the event calendar. Order left chest transfers for polos, a full back for field crews and UV DTF for the giveaway table, all from the same artwork, all priced on bounding box at $0.06 per square inch.
HR and office managers running onboarding
New hires arrive in twos and threes, not in dozens. No minimum on standard DTF means you reorder six left chest logos in March at the same per-inch price you paid for sixty in January.
Event and trade show planners
Booth staff shirts, 250 tote bags and a hard-goods giveaway usually land on one purchase order. Standard DTF and UV DTF both ship same day; raised UV patches and fauxbroidery need 48 hours, leatherette patches 72.
Promotional products distributors and agencies
You quote the client, we print the film. Bounding box pricing makes a quote easy to build, and pre-cut contour cutting at $0.29 per transfer makes the kit easy to hand off to whoever presses it.
Melville questions
- Our brand kit only has the logo as a JPG on a white background. Can you print it?
- Yes, if we can pull a clean edge. Use the free background knockout tool on the site to strip a solid white background in your browser, then export a 300 DPI PNG with transparency at final print size. Sizing the file at final print size avoids the resampling that softens small type in a left chest mark.
- Can we order transfers for just 25 shirts, or is there a company minimum?
- There is no minimum on standard DTF transfers. Twenty-five 3 by 2.5 inch left chest logos is 7.5 square inches each at $0.06, so $11.25 in transfers. Minimums exist elsewhere in the catalog: puff DTF is 10 units, custom UV DTF carries a $35 order minimum, and leatherette patches are 10 per shape and color.
- We need shirts in hand in Melville for an event next Thursday. When do we order?
- Work backward from transit, not from us. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day goes to the carrier that same business day, but standard transit is 2 to 5 business days and expedited is 1 to 3. For a Thursday event, order on standard the week before, or use expedited and still build in slack for pressing.
- Can someone pick the order up instead of shipping it to our Melville office?
- Yes. Local pickup is available the same business day after production, by appointment, at 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1, Huntington, NY 11743. That is our only physical location, so there is nothing to collect in Melville itself. Call 631-458-3842 or email our order desk to set a pickup time.
- Will these hold up in a uniform laundry rotation?
- Pressed to spec, a standard DTF transfer holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Spec is 300 to 325 F for cotton, 285 to 300 F for polyester, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Production defects are reprinted: report a defective or incorrect order within 7 days of delivery with photos.
