DTF Transfers for Gyms and Fitness Studios in Wantagh, NY

Long Island DTF Printing ships custom heat transfers to Wantagh and the rest of Nassau County from our Huntington facility. Gyms and fitness studios are a particular kind of order: mixed fabrics, unpredictable size runs, and a launch date that does not move. Standard DTF is $0.06 per square inch with no minimum, and orders placed by 3 PM Eastern ship the same business day.

The arithmetic on a studio challenge run

Standard DTF transfers are $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box. A 3.5 by 3.5 inch left chest logo is 12.25 square inches, so $0.74 a piece. Sixty of them is $44.10. Add an 11 by 11 inch back crest at 121 square inches, $7.26 each, and sixty backs comes to $435.60. A 9 by 4 inch wordmark across the front of a tank is 36 square inches, $2.16. There is no minimum on standard DTF, so a twelve-piece trainer run at a 4 by 3 inch left chest is $0.72 each, $8.64 total. Free shipping starts at $99, so small reorders either pay freight or get combined with the next batch.

Two press settings, because a gym wardrobe is not one fabric

Studios buy performance polyester tanks, tri-blend tees and cotton fleece in the same order, and those are not the same press. Cotton runs 300 to 325 F. Polyester runs 285 to 300 F, because heat is what pulls dye out of the fiber and into the film. Both want 10 to 15 seconds at medium-firm pressure. On dark performance poly, press one tank first and let it cool completely before judging color, since dye migration surfaces hours later rather than at the peel. Applied to spec, the print holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which is the number that matters on clothing washed after every session.

Gang sheet or per piece: same rate, different workflow

DTF gang sheets are 14 inches wide at the same $0.06 per square inch, charged on sheet area rather than design area, in fixed lengths: 14x18 is $15.12, 14x24 is $20.16, 14x36 is $30.24, 14x48 is $40.32, 14x54 is $45.36, 14x72 is $60.48. Minimum spacing between designs is 0.25 inch, and those gaps are billable area. Because the rate is identical either way, a sheet is not automatically cheaper. What it buys you is handling: one sheet to cut down at the press table, plus leftover space you can fill with sleeve hits or spares. For one repeated logo at one fixed size, per-piece pricing usually lands lower.

Shaker bottles, tumblers and the front-desk shelf

UV DTF covers the hard-good half of a gym order. It is a rub-on transfer, $0.10 per square inch, and UV DTF gang sheets run 24 inches wide. A 3 by 3 inch wrap for a shaker bottle or a stainless tumbler is 9 square inches, $0.90 a piece. Custom UV DTF carries a $35 order minimum, so batch it rather than ordering two. Die-cut vinyl stickers are $0.22 per square inch for giveaways at the desk. Raised UV patches and dimensional UV graphics are also available for hat and bag branding, but both are 48 hour products rather than same-day, so order them ahead of a launch date.

The 3 PM Eastern cutoff, and how it reaches Nassau County

Same-day is the standard service here, not an upgrade and not a fee. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it goes out the next business day. Production runs Monday to Friday. Same-day shipping is not same-day delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited is 1 to 3, and free shipping starts at $99 in the contiguous US. Two faster routes exist locally. Pickup at our Huntington facility is by appointment the same business day after production, and a $19.99 flat-rate local courier option appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.

Print the transfer, decide the garment size later

A studio that screen prints has to commit to a size breakdown before anyone signs up. DTF does not work that way. The transfer is the inventory. Press it onto whatever blank moves, in whatever size walked through the door, and you are not sitting on thirty smalls in March. That changes how you order: buy to the design, not to the size run, and keep 10 to 20 percent spare, because a $0.96 left chest transfer costs less than a second shipment. Artwork should be a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background at final print size. The browser-based knockout tool on the site strips a white box off a JPG logo, and the pricing calculator quotes the bounding box before you commit.

Who orders from Wantagh

Boutique studio owners

Challenge and program launches where the shirt has to be in members' hands on day one. Order transfers to the design, press blanks as people sign up, and skip the pre-launch size guess entirely.

Strength and conditioning gyms

Competition team singlets, coach tops and member hoodies in one order spanning cotton fleece and performance poly. Two press settings, one transfer supplier, and no minimum on the short coaching-staff run.

Independent personal trainers

Small batches, often under a dozen pieces. A 4 by 3 inch left chest logo is 12 square inches, $0.72 a piece, and standard DTF transfers carry no minimum order quantity at all.

Gym apparel and front-desk retail

Restock what actually sold instead of reprinting a full size run. Add UV DTF wraps for shaker bottles and tumblers at $0.10 per square inch on the same order.

Wantagh questions

Is there a minimum order for gym staff shirts?
No. Standard DTF transfers have no minimum, so a four-shirt coaching set and a 200-piece challenge run price the same way, at $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box. Minimums exist elsewhere in the catalog: puff DTF is 10 units, custom UV DTF has a $35 order minimum, and leatherette patches are 10 per shape and color.
Will a DTF transfer survive being washed after every workout?
Applied to spec, a standard DTF transfer holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Spec is 300 to 325 F on cotton or 285 to 300 F on polyester, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Most early failures on gym apparel trace back to dwell time or pressure, not to the film itself.
What temperature do I press on moisture-wicking polyester tanks?
285 to 300 F, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Run one tank as a test and let it cool completely before judging it. Dye migration shows up as a pink or grey haze hours after the press, not at the peel. If you see it, move toward 285 F rather than adding heat.
Can I get transfers in Wantagh the same day I order them?
We ship the same business day when the order is placed by 3 PM Eastern, but transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. Two faster options exist. Pickup at our Huntington facility is by appointment the same business day after production, and a $19.99 flat-rate local courier option appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.
What file do you need for a gym logo?
A 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background, sized at final print dimensions. If your logo came back from a designer as a JPG with a white box behind it, the free background knockout tool on the site runs in your browser and removes it. Pricing is quoted off the bounding box, so trim empty space before uploading.
