DTF Transfers for Bay Shore Restaurant and Hospitality Uniforms
Bay Shore restaurants, bars and catering crews reorder uniform graphics constantly, usually small marks in high counts. We print custom DTF transfers at $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box with no minimum on standard DTF, and an order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day.
What a front-of-house order actually looks like
Hospitality orders are small marks repeated a lot. A left chest logo at 3.5 by 3.5 inches, a 4 by 4 inch apron bib mark, a 10 by 3 inch strip across the shoulders for a bar crew, and sometimes a 1.5 by 3 inch name strip. Almost nothing is oversized. What varies is the count, because a floor team of twenty needs two shirts each plus spares, and the spares get used. Standard DTF transfers carry no minimum, so the first order and the fourth reorder are priced the same way: $0.06 per square inch of the bounding box, however many you buy.
Uniform math at $0.06 per square inch
You pay for the bounding box, not the ink coverage. A 3.5 by 3.5 inch left chest is 12.25 square inches, so $0.74 each. A 4 by 4 inch apron mark is 16 square inches, $0.96. A 10 by 3 inch shoulder strip is 30 square inches, $1.80. Sixty left chests plus sixty apron marks is $44.10 plus $57.60, or $101.70, which clears the $99 free shipping threshold in the contiguous US. A full 11 by 11 inch back print is 121 square inches at $7.26 apiece, which is why uniform decoration stays small and stays cheap while a promo tee does not.
Pressing aprons, poly server shirts and cotton tees
A uniform order is rarely one fabric. Cotton canvas bibs and cotton tees press at 300 to 325 F. Polyester and poly blend moisture-wicking shirts press at 285 to 300 F, and you hold the lower end on anything prone to scorch or dye migration. Both run 10 to 15 seconds at medium-firm pressure. Uniforms get laundered hot and often, and applied to spec these transfers hold 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Press one test piece per fabric before you run a full rack, because apron twill and a knit poly tee do not behave the same under the same platen.
Reordering for two new hires on a Tuesday
Turnover is the real order driver in hospitality. Someone starts Thursday and needs a shirt for Friday. Because there is no minimum on standard DTF, a six-transfer reorder is a normal order rather than a nuisance, priced identically per square inch. Anything placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day goes to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service for everyone, not a rush fee and not an upgrade. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it ships the next business day. Production runs Monday to Friday. Same-day shipping is not same-day delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited 1 to 3.
Gang sheets versus individual transfers for a mixed uniform run
Gang sheets are a format, not a discount. Sheets are 14 inches wide at $0.06 per square inch of sheet area in fixed lengths: 14x18 is $15.12, 14x24 is $20.16, 14x36 is $30.24, 14x48 is $40.32, and 14x72 is $60.48. You pay for the whole sheet including whitespace, and minimum spacing between designs is 0.25 inch, so a tightly nested sheet approaches bounding box pricing and a loose one costs you the gaps. The reason to gang is consolidation: logo, apron mark, name strips and a kitchen variant on one sheet you trim yourself. If you would rather not trim, add pre-cut contour cutting at $0.29 per transfer.

Who orders from Bay Shore
Restaurant and bar owners
Left chest logos for server tees, a 4 by 4 inch mark for aprons, and a back strip for bar staff. Small counts reorder cleanly because standard DTF has no minimum and the per-piece price never changes.
Catering and event staffing companies
One brand mark across multiple garment types and colors, staged on gang sheets so a single 14x36 sheet covers shirts, aprons and bags. Press specs differ by fabric, so test one piece per substrate first.
Seasonal summer hospitality operators
Ferry season staffing means hiring in bursts and replacing shirts mid-season. A six-piece reorder placed by 3 PM Eastern ships the same business day, so you are not carrying a year of decorated inventory for a summer crew.
Uniform dealers and contract decorators
Transfers arrive ready to press, so you stock blanks instead of decorated goods. Add pre-cut contour cutting at $0.29 per transfer when a finishing person is faster than a trimming person.
Bay Shore questions
- How much does a left chest restaurant logo cost per shirt?
- A 3.5 by 3.5 inch left chest is 12.25 square inches, which is $0.74 at $0.06 per square inch. Drop to 3 by 3 and it is $0.54. Go up to 4 by 4 and it is $0.96. The free per-square-inch calculator on the site prices any size before you commit to a full rack of shirts.
- Can I order transfers for just six new hires?
- Yes. Standard DTF transfers have no minimum order, so six is a normal order at the same per-square-inch price as six hundred. Some specialty items do carry minimums: puff DTF is 10 units, custom UV DTF has a $35 order minimum, and leatherette patches are 10 per shape and color. A six-piece standard reorder placed by 3 PM Eastern still ships that business day.
- Will these hold up to commercial laundering on aprons?
- Applied to spec they hold 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Spec is 300 to 325 F for cotton aprons and tees, 285 to 300 F for polyester, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Under-pressing is the usual cause of early edge lift, so press a sample on the same fabric before running the whole set.
- If I order Friday afternoon, when does it leave?
- Friday before 3 PM Eastern, it is handed to the carrier Friday. Friday after 3 PM, it ships Monday, because production runs Monday to Friday and weekends and federal holidays do not count. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. Pickup in Huntington is available by appointment the same business day after production.
- What artwork do you need for a restaurant logo?
- A 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background, sized at final print size. If the logo only exists as a JPG from a menu or a photo of a sign, run it through the free browser-based background knockout tool on the site first. Vector art exported at print size is ideal. Do not upscale a small web file, because the softness shows once pressed.
