DTF Transfers for Commack Dance Studios and Travel Teams
Long Island DTF Printing ships heat transfers to Commack and the rest of Suffolk County from our Huntington shop. Standard DTF is $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box with no minimum, so a 14 player number set and a single replacement jersey are both normal orders. Place it by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it ships that day.
Roster sets and recital runs, priced at $0.06 a square inch
Standard DTF is $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box, so a job costs what it measures. A 4 by 4 left chest studio mark is 16 square inches, $0.96. A recital front at 9 by 11 is 99 square inches, $5.94 each, so a 60 shirt run is $356.40. A travel roster back with a 5 by 8 number and a 10 by 1.75 name bar is 57.5 square inches, $3.45 per player. Add an 8 by 8 front crest at $3.84 and a 14 player set comes to $102.06, which clears the $99 free shipping line on its own. No minimum on standard DTF.
Gang sheets are 14 inches wide, and whitespace is billable
DTF gang sheets run 14 inches wide in fixed lengths: 14x18 $15.12, 14x24 $20.16, 14x36 $30.24, 14x48 $40.32, 14x54 $45.36, 14x72 $60.48. The rate is the same $0.06, charged on sheet area instead of design area, so empty space costs money. Run the numbers before you assume a sheet is cheaper. Thirty three 4 by 4 chest logos packed three across a 14x48 sheet is $40.32; the same 33 ordered as individual transfers is $31.68. Sheets earn their keep when you are nesting many odd shapes, names, numbers, sleeve marks, patch art, into one handling unit. Minimum spacing is 0.25 inch. The auto-build packer on the site does the nesting for you.
Pressing onto warmups, leotards and performance poly
Dance and travel team blanks skew polyester: warmup jackets, performance tees, mesh shorts, competition pieces. Run those at 285 to 300 F, 10 to 15 seconds, medium-firm pressure. Cotton tees and hoodies take 300 to 325 F at the same dwell and pressure. Applied to spec, a transfer holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F, which is the standard a costume or a game jersey actually has to survive. Press one test piece from the same blank lot before you run a full roster. Send artwork as a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background at final print size; the browser knockout tool will strip a white box out of an old logo file.
The 3 PM cutoff against a Saturday tournament or a dress rehearsal
An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. That is the standard service for everyone, not an upgrade and not a rush fee. Orders after 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, ship the next business day. Production runs Monday to Friday. Same-day shipping is not same-day delivery: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days and expedited is 1 to 3. So count backwards from the date you need pieces in hand, not from the ship date. Raised UV patches and fauxbroidery are 48 hours, leatherette patches and puff DTF are 72.
Getting it to Commack: ship, pickup, or local courier
Three routes. Free shipping on orders of $99 and up in the contiguous US, which most roster sets and recital runs clear by themselves. Local pickup at the Huntington facility, same business day after production, by appointment. And a $19.99 flat-rate local courier option that appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses, worth checking when the date is tight. We ship to all 50 states and do not ship internationally. Our only physical location is 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1, Huntington, NY 11743. There is no counter, studio or drop-off point in Commack: serving Suffolk County means we ship to it and you can collect from Huntington.
Mid-season reorders: one number, no minimum
Rosters change. A player is added in week three, a dancer moves up a level, a name comes back misspelled off the registration form. There is no minimum on standard DTF, so a single 5 by 8 number at $2.40 is a legitimate order and it runs against the same 3 PM cutoff as a 300 piece job. Keep your files at final print size and reprint the one piece rather than a whole sheet. If you want transfers trimmed to shape before they arrive, the pre-cut contour cutting add-on is $0.29 per transfer. Production defects are reprinted: report a defective or incorrect order with photos within 7 days of delivery.
Who orders from Commack
Dance studio owners and directors
Recital tees, company jackets, class shirts and competition warmups. A 9 by 11 front prints at $5.94 per shirt and a 4 by 4 left chest studio mark at $0.96, so a mixed run prices out line by line before you commit.
Travel team managers and booster parents
Numbers, name bars, front crests and sleeve sponsor marks. A 5 by 8 number plus a 10 by 1.75 name is $3.45 per player, and a 14 player set clears the $99 free shipping threshold without padding the order.
Studios and programs running a merch table
UV DTF at $0.10 per square inch puts the same logo on water bottles, tumblers and bag tags with no heat press involved. A 3 by 4 mark is $1.20 a bottle. Custom UV orders carry a $35 minimum.
Local decorators taking overflow work
Press shops on a busy retail corridor can push spillover to us instead of turning it down. No minimum on standard DTF, $0.06 per square inch, and orders in by 3 PM Eastern go to the carrier that same business day.
Commack questions
- How fast can I get DTF transfers in Commack for a weekend tournament?
- Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it ships that same business day. Transit is separate: 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. You can also collect at our Huntington facility the same business day after production, by appointment, or check the $19.99 flat-rate courier option at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses.
- Is a gang sheet cheaper than individual transfers for a team roster?
- Not automatically. Both are $0.06 per square inch, but a gang sheet is billed on sheet area, so you pay for the gaps. Thirty three 4 by 4 logos on a 14x48 sheet is $40.32 against $31.68 as loose transfers. Sheets pay off when you are nesting many irregular shapes, names, numbers and sleeve marks, into one unit.
- What press settings should I use on dance warmups and performance jerseys?
- Polyester warmups, performance tees and mesh run at 285 to 300 F. Cotton tees and hoodies run at 300 to 325 F. Both take 10 to 15 seconds at medium-firm pressure. Pressed to spec, transfers hold 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Always test one piece from the same blank lot first.
- Can I order a single replacement number mid-season?
- Yes. There is no minimum on standard DTF transfers, so one 5 by 8 number at $2.40 is a normal order and runs on the same 3 PM Eastern cutoff as a large job. Orders under $99 pay shipping, so pickup in Huntington or the local courier option at checkout is often the better route for a single piece.
- Do you have a shop in Commack?
- No. Our only physical location is 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1, Huntington, NY 11743. Serving Commack means we print and ship to it, and you can pick up in Huntington by appointment the same business day after production. Call 631-458-3842 or email our order desk with roster counts and print sizes.
