DTF Transfers for Lindenhurst, NY Makers and Home Shops
Long Island DTF Printing prints custom DTF transfers for makers in Lindenhurst and across Suffolk County, shipping from our Huntington shop. Standard transfers are $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box with no minimum order, so a single personalized shirt is worth printing. Order by 3 PM Eastern on a business day and it ships that same business day.
No minimum, because home shops sell one shirt at a time
Home shops do not order 144 of anything. You sell one shirt with a name on it, then a different shirt with a different name. Standard DTF transfers have no minimum order, so a single 4x4 transfer is a real order: 16 square inches at $0.06 is $0.96. A 3.5x3.5 left chest is $0.74. A 10x12 full front is $7.20. You are charged on the bounding box of the design, not on a fixed sheet size, so a tall skinny graphic does not get billed as a square. Order one, order forty, the per inch rate does not change.
Sheet math for a craft fair restock
A DTF gang sheet is 14 inches wide and priced on sheet area at the same $0.06, so a 14x24 is $20.16 and a 14x36 is $30.24. You pay for the whole sheet, gaps included, and minimum spacing between designs is 0.25 inch. Pack 3x3 logos onto a 14x24 and you get four across and seven down: 28 transfers for $20.16, about $0.72 each. Those same 28 ordered individually are $0.54 each. The sheet costs a little more per piece and gives you one file, one line item and one sheet to cut down at the table. Run it both ways in the calculator before you decide.
The 3 PM cutoff, and what it does not mean
Same day shipping is the standard service here. It is not an upgrade, not a rush fee and not a membership perk. An order placed by 3 PM Eastern on a business day is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. After 3 PM, or on a weekend or federal holiday, it goes out the next business day. Production runs Monday to Friday. Shipping same day is not delivery same day: standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited is 1 to 3. If you are quoting a ship-by date to a buyer, count the transit days, not the print day.
Pressing transfers on a hobby press
Press spec is 300 to 325 F on cotton, 285 to 300 F on polyester, 10 to 15 seconds at medium firm pressure. Check the garment tag before you set the plate. Treat blends as polyester and work the lower end of the range, because polyester scorches long before cotton does. Applied to spec, the print holds 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. If you are working on a small clamshell, press one transfer from the batch and wash test it before you commit an entire inventory run to a new blank.
Getting a supplied JPG ready to print
Print files need to be 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background, sized at final print size. A white background prints as white ink, so it has to come out first. The browser based knockout tool on this site removes it without a Photoshop subscription. The pricing calculator gives you the per square inch cost before you upload, the drag and drop builder lets you lay out a sheet by hand, and the auto build packer fills the sheet for you. There is also a catalog of 2,434 ready to print designs if you would rather use stock art than commission it.
Three ways an order reaches Suffolk County
Everything is printed at the Huntington shop, 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1. Ship it: free on orders of $99 and up in the contiguous US, 2 to 5 business days standard, 1 to 3 expedited. Pick it up in Huntington the same business day after production, by appointment. Or take the $19.99 flat rate local courier option, which appears at checkout for eligible Long Island addresses. Free shipping starts at $99, and a 14x48 sheet plus a 14x72 sheet comes to $100.80, which clears it on a single restock.
Who orders from Lindenhurst
Etsy shops printing personalized one-offs
A name-and-date design is one transfer, and there is no minimum. Upload it, pay $0.74 for a 3.5x3.5 left chest, and it ships the same business day when you order by 3 PM Eastern.
Craft fair and holiday market vendors
Restock bestsellers in batches. A 14x36 gang sheet is $30.24 and holds a mixed run, so you can pack ten of one proven graphic and three of another onto the same sheet.
Tumbler and drinkware makers
UV DTF transfers are $0.10 per square inch and apply to hard goods without a heat press. Custom UV DTF carries a $35 order minimum, and UV DTF gang sheets run 24 inches wide.
Sellers who tuck a sticker into every package
Die cut vinyl stickers are $0.22 per square inch, so a 3x3 sticker is $1.98. Add them to a transfer order so everything ships together and counts toward the $99 free shipping threshold.
Lindenhurst questions
- Is there a minimum order for DTF transfers if I only sell a few shirts a week?
- No minimum on standard DTF transfers. One transfer is a valid order. Pricing is $0.06 per square inch of the design's bounding box, so a 4x4 is $0.96 and a 10x10 full front is $6.00. Minimums exist on a few specialty items: puff DTF is 10 units, leatherette patches are 10 per shape and color, and custom UV DTF has a $35 order minimum.
- If I order from Lindenhurst at 2 PM, when does it actually arrive?
- It is printed, inspected, packed and handed to the carrier that same business day. Arrival is separate from that. Standard transit is 2 to 5 business days, expedited is 1 to 3. If you need it sooner, pickup at the Huntington facility is available the same business day after production, by appointment, or check whether the $19.99 flat rate local courier option appears at checkout for your address.
- Do gang sheets really save money on small designs?
- Not always. Sheets are billed on sheet area at $0.06 per square inch, so you pay for the gaps, and spacing has to be at least 0.25 inch. Twenty-eight 3x3 designs packed on a 14x24 work out to roughly $0.72 each against $0.54 each ordered individually. The sheet wins on handling and file management, not on raw cost.
- My artwork is a JPG with a white background. Can you print it?
- Print files need to be 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background at final print size. A white background will print as white ink. The free background knockout tool on this site runs in your browser and removes it, so you can fix a supplied JPG yourself before uploading instead of paying a designer for a cutout.
- What settings should I use on a hobby heat press?
- 300 to 325 F for cotton, 285 to 300 F for polyester, 10 to 15 seconds, medium firm pressure. Treat blends as polyester and use the lower end. Applied to spec, prints survive 50 or more commercial wash cycles at 104 F. Press and wash test one piece before committing a full inventory run.
